Methodology

1. Inputs we treat as facts

• Provider-published cargo volume, payload, and interior dimensions (when available).
• Published rear-door openings when the source includes them.
• Official box product volumes for U-Haul moving boxes.

2. Product assumptions

• Item planning volumes are occupancy ranges from industry cube sheets and secondary tables—not solid-object geometry.
• Home-size presets are editable starters written by the product, not standards.
• Loading scenarios divide planning volume by 0.85 (optimistic), 0.75 (typical), and 0.65 (conservative).
• Missing item weights use 7 lb/ft³ constructive density, or box light/normal/books densities when selected.

3. Eligibility rules

A truck is eligible only when volume status is recommended or roomy, payload is not over the low weight bound, fit is not “likely too large,” and one-way constraints are not violated. Tight is shown for comparison but is not eligible.

4. What we refuse to invent

• Missing rear-door sizes stay unknown.
• Conflicting official numbers keep the conservative value and are logged in the changelog.
• No live prices, booking inventory, or loading guarantee.
